Java Developer
On behalf of our client, a leading Swiss bank, Swisslinx are looking for a Java Developer for an initial 6 month contract.
Responsibilities will include:
-Developing, integrating, deploying with automation / continuous integration and maintaining 3rd party and in-house developed software
-Building subject matter expertise (SME) on the applications, environments and underlying business processes
-Providing escalation level support for applications and services within your domain, supporting all service lifecycle phases, based on ITIL industry standard
-Ensuring that applications are and remain compliant to enterprise requirements and standards, managing audit and risk assessments and their remediation
The successful candidate will have:
-University degree in computer science, math, physics, engineering or a related field
-8+ years of Linux shell scripting, Python and Java (J2EE) development experience
-Extensive experience as a senior software engineering position within a complex organization, preferably in the financial services domain
-Strong devops continuous automation and integration experience – ideally with Jenkins
-Wide knowledge in operating system administration, cloud and on premise platform deployment and networking protocols
-Previous experience integrating in-house and 3rd party vendor products into an enterprise environment (software packaging, scripting and integrations, cloud adoption)
-Knowledge of DB concepts and hands on experience with databases (Postgres, Oracle)
-Hands on experience in networking security, databases and cloud systems
-A solid understanding of all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle (Agile, Kanban or Waterfall)
-Strong analytical and problem solving skills
-A proactive and independent work style, excellent organizational and time-management skills
-High level of drive and commitment, flexibility to undertake a variety of assignments
-A self-starter, proactive and resilient to ensure goals are met
-Known for a can-do approach when tackling difficult tasks
-Process oriented with a structured approach to ensure delivery in time
