On behalf of our client, a reputable Swiss bank, Swisslinx are looking for an experienced Java developer to join a project based in Ticino, Switzerland.
Key Responsibilities:
• Cooperates closely with the Solution Architect of the application, other Software Engineers, the IT Owner, the Requirements Engineer, the Test Manager, Test Engineers and the IT Project Manager
• Contributes, individually or with other solution engineers, to the coding activities
• Reviews and discuss with the Requirement Engineers/Business Analysts the requirement specifications
• Ensure Unit Test coverage in the implementation of the business logic requirements and of the technical features
• Supports Test Engineers is all test activities, ensuring the availability of the right release of the applications, helping in the analysis of detected bugs and planning resolution actions
• Supports production operations analyzing reported issues, inspecting logs and performance figures
• Ensures correct application configurations in production and test environments
• Monitors correct execution of batch jobs (e.g. daily mass calculations) in production and test environments
Essentials Skills and Qualifications:
1. Experience in the design (optional) and implementation of multi-tier application platforms
2. Good knowledge of modern Java platforms and associated frameworks (EJB , JPA, Spring, JMS)
3. Experience in development, roll-out and maintenance of complex applications
4. General knowledge of modern front-end technologies
5. In-depth knowledge of modern code management, build and deployment tools (e.g. Subversion, Maven, GIT, Jenkins)
6. Oracle 11g or similar RDBMS and related tools (e.g. Toad or PL/SQL Developer, or similar)
7. Knowledge and regular use of enterprise container solutions, either in the Java EE or in the Spring Boot flavors.
8. Experience with RESTful services and Web Services
9. Experience in application development projects using Agile (e.g. Scrum, JIRA, …) and Waterfall methodologies and tools
10. Responsive to changing requirements and priorities
11. Experience in development, roll-out and maintenance of complex applications
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
• Strong communication skills and ability to deal effectively with people face to face and over the phone across different cultures and time zones (off-shore)
• Strong negotiation skills, both with internal as well as external clients
• In-depth knowledge of modern code management, build and deployment tools (e.g. Subversion, Maven, GIT, Jenkins)
• Oracle 11g or similar RDBMS and related tools (e.g. Toad or PL/SQL Developer, or similar)
• Knowledge and regular use of enterprise container solutions, either in the Java EE or in the Spring Boot flavors.
• Experience with RESTful services and Web Services
• JUnit and Continuous Integration solutions
• Interest and ability to learn and apply other technologies as needed
Preferred qualifications/experience:
• Multiple years working in IT in the solution development area
• Experience working in Credit Domain of Banking Industry
• Experience working in international projects
• Experience in delivery projects using agile methodologies and tools (e.g. Scrum, JIRA, …)
• Experience working with container technology like Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift
• Experience working on Linux systems
• Experience in software design and data modeling practices
• German and/or Italian language skills are an added value
