As the premier supplier to our international banking client in Basel, Swisslinx are looking for an experienced Artificial Intelligence Engineer with 5+ years experience and a strong background in data science, machine learning, software engineering, and familiarity with both back-end and front-end technologies.

The new hire will focus on delivering a new PoC from Middle Office to pilot and enhancing existing ones.

This is an initial contract running for 12 months with option to extend on a long term basis based on the project road maps, starting by December.

This Artificial Intelligence Engineer will join a small and diverse Data and Analytics Team and collaborator with representatives from Middle Office and users from Front and Back Office.

Responsibilities will include:

• Design AI application architectures and implement Python-based applications for various business use cases.
• Design and implement testing and evaluation methodologies for AI applications, focusing on Large Language Model applications.
• Collaborate with financial and business teams to understand the organization's financial structure and requirements.
• Conduct data exploration and preprocessing to prepare large unstructured datasets for analysis and modeling.
• Leverage Azure OpenAI APIs to implement AI applications, optimize their performance, and scale them effectively.
• Develop APIs and interfaces for integrating AI models into existing systems and platforms.
• Monitor, maintain, and update models as needed to ensure they continue to meet business needs.
• Stay updated with the latest AI trends, technologies, and best practices, and explore new tools and techniques to improve project outcomes.

You will possess as many of the following skills as possible:

• Around 5 years of experience as a Data Scientist/Engineer or similar role with a focus on machine learning and AI application development and deployment using Python.
• Experience in developing services based on Large Language Models, with familiarity in using frameworks such as LangChain and LlamaIndex. Experience with prompt engineering.
• Familiarity with vector databases (e.g., ChromaDB, Weaviate).
• Experience with Python libraries such as NumPy, Pandas, Matplotlib, Scikit-learn, Pydantic, and requests.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms like Azure, AWS, and their off-the-shelf AI functionalities.
• Fluency in English

Nice to have:

• Demonstrated experience in the design and development of web applications, with practical experience using Python data application development frameworks such as Streamlit, Plotly Dash, or HoloViz Panel.
• Familiarity with RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) framework.
• Prior experience in developing AI applications in financial industry.
• Certifications in AI or machine learning from recognized institutions like deeplearning.ai or Coursera.
• Publications or contributions to open-source projects in the AI or machine learning field.
• Master’s or PhD in a relevant field.

Please note interviews would be conducted via video call, however the role is based 100% in Switzerland. Our client offers:
