Big Data Engineer
On behalf of our client, a private Swiss bank, Swisslinx are looking for a Big Data Engineer to support a data platform project.
This is an initial contract until the end of 2020 and will involve sourcing, cleansing, and delivering the data for a variety of different business cases.
Responsibilities will include:
-Technical data engineering for the data and analytics platform based on Kubernetes and Hadoop
-Support the design and implementation of data architecture topics as part of the data platform
-Determine structural requirements and potential changes within the data platform
-Identify re-use potential across different data platform consumers
-Act as a key member for data on-boarding and implementation tasks including testing of newly sourced data sets
The successful candidate will bring:
-Higher technology education
-5+ years’ experience working with data architecture and data engineering
-Hands on Big Data experience using known tech stacks (Hadoop or Kubernetes)
-Strong working experience with Python, Spark, and Jupiter Networks
-Reporting experience (with Tableau or Power BI)
-Agile experience in data related projects
-Previous knowledge and exposure of Kafka streaming will be highly beneficial
-Experience of Cloudera, Google Cloud Platform, MS Azure, or Hortonworks will be highly beneficial
