On behalf of our client, a global bank with headquarters in Zurich, Swisslinx are looking for a dynamic and motivated C# .NET Developer with strong middle tier and database development experience to join the development team as part of an alternative investments project.
This is a rolling 12 month contract with a strong chance of extension and a start date by April 2020.
Joining a small and extremely Agile team hailing from all parts of the world embedded on the business side you will help with the definition of the requirements and the reprioritization of work due to the closeness of how the team works with the business. This includes:
- Working independently and as part of a small team in an agile environment, under the guidance of the tech lead
- Developing components on a Microsoft 3-tier architecture system
- Enhancing existing functionalities and designing/implementing new features following coding best practices
- Taking part in extending the testing framework and maintaining / improving unit tests
- Understanding the business specifications, converting requirements into technical solutions
- Designing and Building Reports using SSRS/Power Builder as required by the business
- Supporting the Production Environment and the end-users
As the successful applicant, you will possess the following skills and experience:
- In depth OOP, .NET C# 4.5 or above, LINQ, multi-threading
- Proven experience with database design on MSSQL Server T-SQL and design with 2014 and above (core T-SQL, Optimization etc.)
- Experience with BI tools such as SSRS, PowerBuilder or similar tool mandatory
- Knowledge of SQL Server Integration Services
- Data Warehouse design and implementation knowledge (Kimball)
- Previous experience in the Finance / Insurance industries (ideally within Trading / Portfolio Management)
- Ideally knowledge of Python or VBA
- Strong analytic and problem solving skills
- Good client communication skills / able to independently liaise with end users
- Flexible on moving targets / changing requirements
- Good oral/written communication, positive and proactive team attitude
- Experience working in an Agile environment advantageous
- Good spoken and written English
