On behalf of one of our clients, a leading international company operating within the food industry, Swisslinx is seeking a Commodity Risk Specialist. In this role, you would help shape procurement strategies, contribute to risk management processes, and provide insights to senior leadership and key stakeholders.
This is a full-time, permanent position, based in Dublin.
Your responsibilities:
• Assist in creating a global framework for managing commodity price risks in procurement
• Participate in regular meetings with the Commodity Risk Manager to review market updates and risk strategies.
• Develop tools and models to assess and manage risk and optimize costs
• Ensure the accuracy of demand forecasts, hedging strategies, and market data
• Oversee the execution of hedging programs with third parties and support audit processes
• Collaborate on market research and analysis for procurement and senior management
• Create financial metrics and dashboards to monitor CPRM performance
• Expand the risk management strategy and explore third-party market options
• Support category tenders, develop inflation models, and manage commodity risks for diesel, gas, and power
Your profile:
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Business Management and experience as a Chartered or Management Accountant is considered an advantage
• Previous experience in commodities risk management or analysis
• Deep understanding of commodity markets and macroeconomic factors affecting procurement
• Proficient in analysing data, budgeting and forecasting
• Strong ability to interpret financial indicators to drive business improvements
• Capable of making informed, timely decisions and paying high attention to detail
• Previous experience in managing projects, reporting progress and addressing issues
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
