Data Engineer
On behalf of our client, a private Swiss bank, Swisslinx are looking for a Data Engineer with strong technical skills and ability to coordinate business use cases on the newly developed big data platform.
This will be a contract initially until the end of 2021 with a potential for further extension.
Responsibilities will include:
-Data engineering including ETL processes, data modelling, data analytics, and data integration
-Technical Coordination with business to translate business requirements into technical specs for the implementation
-Act as a key resource for the sourcing system including data onboarding, implementation tasks, and testing of newly sourced datasets
-Agreeing on MVP to be delivered against fixed deadline and deliver required data scope
The successful candidate will bring:
-Strong background of data engineering within financial services (including migrations, analytics, and integrations)
-Proven experience and strong knowledge of regulatory projects and transaction monitoring
-Extensive experience and understanding of data requirements analysis on an object and attribute level
-Metadata management and JSON validation experience
-Working knowledge of Kafka streaming, python scripting, and extended SQL skills
-Agile project experience in data related projects
-Data integration experience using distributed Big Data platforms
-Kubernetes and Docker experience would be hugely beneficial
-Working knowledge of MongoDB, Hive, Impala, Hue or similar modern tools would be beneficial
-Excellent communication skills and ability to liaise effectively with senior management and stakeholders
