On behalf of our client, a major Swiss financial services provider, Swisslinx is looking for a Junior Application Support Specialist for an initial 1 year contract (extension/internalization possible) in Zurich, Switzerland.

Tasks and Responsibilities:
- A dynamic and collaborative working environment as an L2 IT Support Analyst within our team in Operations IT.
- A role providing second level (L2) technical production support in the back office division that hosts multiple business processing applications, both in-house and vendor developed software platforms. These business applications process trades and their lifecycle, settlements, payment and client confirmations for various OTC Interest Rate Derivatives, Options, Credit and Equity de-rivatives.
- A highly responsible position which takes on the daily monitoring of user queries, investigation of issues and providing timely response to internal business users, proactively seeking to minimize potential application support problems through root cause analysis and monitoring
- A high-touch, technical deep-dive and hands-on support position requiring the investigation and debugging of logs and where required, source code to find bugs and issues to be fixed by development teams.
- Provide out-of-hours support including weekend/holiday technical support on rotation and during system incident or events.
- An opportunity to work with technologies such as Kafka, Springboot, SPLUNK, IBM MQ, Con-trol-M, and AppDynamics.

Your Skills:
- 1 to 3 years of technical hands-on in technology through work experience or through trainings will be most suitable.
- Excellent debugging, problem solving and analytical skills in supporting software applications recently in their experience.
- Proficient in writing SQL queries, Unix commands and debugging procedures/functions with recent hands-on experience is essential.
- Software Language (programming experience in one or more): C++, Java, .Net, Perl, Python or any other current programming language. This can be from a professional capacity as well as from an educational capacity for candidates with less work experience (projects, work experience, courses etc.)
- Database (experience in one or more): Oracle, Sybase or DB2 and any other popular programing SQL DB platforms. This can be from a professional capacity as well as from an educational capacity for candidates with less work experience (projects, work experience, courses etc.)
- Operating System experience: Unix or Linux. Recent experience with basic commands full exposure and experience in writing Shell, Perl , SED, AWK, Python or any other similar scripting languages in Unix/Linux/Solaris platform.
- Familiarity with the following technologies is advantageous: Kafka, Springboot, SPLUNK, IBM MQ, Control-M, AppDynamics.
