On behalf of our client, a leader in the bio-pharmaceutical industry, Swisslinx is seeking a dedicated and experienced Project Procurement Lead to manage procurement activities for investment projects at their Visp site and beyond.
Position Overview:
The Project Procurement Lead will hold strategic responsibility for procurement in the construction of manufacturing, laboratory, and office facilities, overseeing projects valued between 5 to 500 million. This role demands a proactive approach to procurement execution strategy and collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure project success.
Key Responsibilities:
• Procurement Strategy Development: Create and coordinate the Procurement Execution Strategy for assigned investment projects, ensuring alignment with project goals.
• Commercial Ownership: Manage all aspects of procurement, including expediting, contract management, and contract closeout for goods such as process equipment, electrical equipment, AHUs, pumps and valves, lab equipment, furniture, and automation systems, as well as services including construction, piping, HVAC, and engineering.
• Master Plan Management: Actively oversee the Procurement Master Plan (PMP) during project execution, ensuring timely reporting and effective risk identification and mitigation.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Foster close collaboration with various stakeholders, including project procurement teams, procurement management, project managers, engineers, and key third-party collaborators such as EPCM and equipment suppliers.
Key Requirements:
• Experience: Minimum 8 years in Capex project or procurement management, preferably within the pharma or biotech sectors.
• Industry Knowledge: Proven experience in plant construction, procurement, and sales, with strong contract management skills.
• Language Proficiency: Fluent in English; proficiency in German is a plus.
• Teamwork Skills: A team player with the ability to work effectively in matrix organizations and interdisciplinary teams.
• Analytical Skills: Excellent business mindset, with strong analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
• Resilience: Initiative and resilience to thrive in a dynamic, ever-changing environment.
• Educational Background: Technical training (ETH or FH) or similar in process, chemical, mechanical, civil, or plant engineering is advantageous.
