As the premier supplier to our client, an international bank with headquarters in Zurich, Swisslinx are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Business Analyst with excellent knowledge of financial products and advanced SQL skills.
This is a 6 month contract starting no later than June 2021, with strong chance of extension up to two years (plus internalization), as the program runs until 2023.
As the successful candidate you will join a Finance Change team establishing the new Big Data Platform with the aim of consolidating finance data globally. This includes working within the Data Modelling work stream for execution and deployment over multiple carrier programs (3 year plus roadmap).
Reporting to the stream lead you will be responsible for the following:
• Business Analyst to work on strategic Finance Big Data platform implementation focusing on creation of its data model
• Opportunity to work with global finance and technology teams
• Working with key stakeholders and subject matter experts and clearly define scope of projects
• Opportunity to apply and extend your Business Analyst and data modelling skills by closely collaborating with the key Finance and IT stakeholders
• Contribute to the data model and data quality management of the Big Data platform
• Gathering and documentation of the business requirements including putting forward recommendations for solutions
• Preparation and execution of test plans, test cases, coordinating with users and IT during the testing phase
• Preparation of the documentation and steps for deployment, including user training where required
• Ideal candidate will meet the defined attributes for the role and display a high degree of energy, enthusiasm and passion for change including the ability to pro-actively engage in solution design and definition
As the ideal candidate you will possess the following skills and experience:
• 5-10 years’ experience as a Business Analyst in the banking industry
• Good understanding of financial products, trade life cycle events
• Understanding of financial accounting concepts strong advantage
• Experience of writing advanced SQL Queries
• You have strong analytical skills with ability to work under time pressure
• Familiarity with some of the following Big Data technologies: HDFS, IMPALA, HUE
• Excellent spoken and written English; German is a plus
Please note due to COVID interviews would be conducted remotely, however the role is based 100% in Switzerland. The team is currently working for home during the pandemic and 2-3 days home office will be offered post COVID.
