Job description
- Deliver research, literature search and reference services to internal stakeholders.
- Produce research digests, current awareness bulletins, reading lists and curated information resources.
- Provide training and guidance on discovery tools, advanced search techniques and reference management.
- Manage collection development, including acquisition, evaluation and lifecycle management of print and digital resources.
- Administer electronic resources, licences and access in collaboration with IT teams.
- Negotiate contracts with external content providers and support procurement and budget activities.
- Create and maintain catalogue records, metadata, taxonomies and controlled vocabularies to improve discoverability.
- Identify opportunities to leverage AI and emerging technologies to improve library services and operational efficiency.
- Administer library platforms, monitor data quality and coordinate with vendors on system enhancements.
- Ensure compliance with copyright, licensing and information governance requirements.
- Track service KPIs and deliver insights to support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Document operational procedures and contribute to policy development.
- Build and maintain relationships with external partners including universities and professional organisations.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years' experience working in a professional library or information management environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Library & Information Science, Information Management or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
- Practical experience implementing or using AI-enabled tools within a library or information management setting.
- Experience delivering research and reference services with minimal supervision.
- Hands-on experience administering library management systems and discovery platforms.
- Experience delivering projects such as system implementations, metadata remediation or platform upgrades.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Fluent English.
Nice to have:
- Experience within a research, academic, financial or international organisation.
- Postgraduate qualification in Library & Information Science or a related field.
- Knowledge of German and/or French.
- Experience working with digital preservation, metadata standards or information governance frameworks.
