The Requirement Engineer is responsible for translating business, compliance, and regulatory requirements into clear, structured, and implementable functional and technical specifications. The role acts as the bridge between business stakeholders, compliance teams, architects, and delivery teams to ensure regulatory reporting solutions are accurate, scalable, compliant, and aligned with governing standards.
This role combines strong analytical capability, regulatory reporting expertise, data mapping proficiency, and collaboration across cross-functional teams to support the end-to-end delivery lifecycle.
Job description
Key Responsibilities
• Translate business, compliance, and regulatory requirements into functional and technical specifications.
• Lead data mapping activities between source systems and regulatory reporting schemas (XML, JSON, CSV).
• Document reporting logic, transformation rules, validations, and field-level requirements.
• Collaborate with compliance SMEs, architects, developers, and business stakeholders.
• Support implementation, testing, defect analysis, and production rollout activities.
• Prepare edge-case scenarios and validate expected reporting outputs.
• Ensure end-to-end traceability between regulatory obligations and delivered solutions.
Requirements
Must-Have Skills & Experience
• Strong knowledge of:
- EMIR / EMIR Refit
- MiFID II / MiFIR
- AMLD5
• 7+ years of experience in data-focused, backend engineering, regulatory reporting, or business analysis roles.
• Experience with regulatory reporting and trade lifecycle concepts.
• Strong SQL skills for data analysis and validation.
• Working knowledge of Python for prototyping and testing.
• Experience working with XML, JSON, CSV, and structured reporting formats.
• Ability to analyse complex data flows and transformation logic.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Experience working in regulated financial environments.
