About the client

The Application Integration Specialist will support a DevOps team in the development, implementation, and operation of integration solutions on a financial messaging platform. The role focuses on IBM integration technologies and involves working closely with development, network, security, and application teams.

This is a full-time assignment starting ASAP for 12 months (with strong likelihood of extension).

Job description

Joining a diverse and experienced team based in Switzerland your responsibilities will include:

 

Integration Engineering

  • Design, develop, and implement message flows and reusable integration patterns.
  • Configure and automate components of IBM MQ Queue Managers (e.g., channels, queues, subscriptions, routing).
  • Support code deployment pipelines and streamline integration delivery processes.

Operational Support

  • Troubleshoot production issues related to the integration and messaging platform.
  • Work with internal teams to ensure timely issue resolution and high-quality service.

Platform Development

  • Contribute to the evolution of integration platforms, including automation (CI/CD) and functional enhancements.
  • Review integration solutions and provide technical feedback to development teams.

Collaboration

  • Work closely with architects and cross-functional teams to improve messaging infrastructure, procedures, and security.
  • Support end-users and stakeholders through effective communication and problem-solving.

Requirements

In order to be considered for this role, you will possess as many of the following skills as possible:

  • Strong understanding of SOA, EAI, and message-oriented middleware concepts.
  • 6+ years of experience as an IBM Integration Developer using IBM Integration Bus or App Connect Enterprise (ACE).
  • 4+ years of experience administering IBM MQ.
  • Experience with financial messaging formats such as SWIFT, SIC, SECOM, ISO20022, and familiarity with the FIX protocol.
  • Fluency in English (and ideally German)
