About the client

On behalf of our client, we are seeking a commercially driven Key Account Manager to manage and expand strategic relationships in the packaging sector. This role focuses on driving revenue, ensuring project delivery, and maintaining high customer satisfaction across a diverse client base. 

Job description

  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with key customers across packaging value chains, including brand owners, co-packers, and converters.
  • Understand customer requirements and offer tailored solutions leveraging product capabilities from multiple production sites.
  • Support new packaging development initiatives and collaborate directly with client teams.
  • Identify new market opportunities and help grow the customer base.
  • Develop and implement sales strategies to meet revenue targets and strengthen market position.
  • Monitor industry trends, competitor moves, and client behavior to inform strategy.
  • Collaborate closely with production, logistics, R&D, and quality teams across locations.
  • Ensure seamless execution of orders and high service standards.
  • Track account performance and customer satisfaction using defined KPIs.
  • Lead negotiations on pricing, terms, and contracts to ensure mutual benefit and compliance
  • Act as a key point of contact for both technical and commercial matters.
  • Represent the company at industry events, trade fairs, and client meetings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven track record in account management or technical sales within the packaging or materials industry.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Knowledge of metals or flexible packaging materials is an asset.
  • Native-level German; fluent English; additional languages are a plus.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and ERP systems (preferably SAP).
  • Travel is required.
