Non-IT Project Manager - Financial Controls

For a leading global reinsurance and financial services institution, we are seeking a highly experienced Project Manager to lead and coordinate the end-to-end financial close cycle within a complex, multi-entity environment. This senior operational role sits within Finance Close Management & Operations and focuses on planning, orchestrating, and continuously improving the financial closing process while supporting a major transformation program migrating legacy systems to a modern cloud infrastructure.

• Own and manage the detailed financial close calendar across Finance, IT and Operations
• Lead close readiness reviews and ensure dependencies, risks, and mitigation plans are identified
• Act as operational lead during the close cycle, monitoring progress and resolving or escalating issues
• Run daily coordination calls during key close phases and ensure full transparency across teams
• Ensure close governance standards and process controls are consistently followed
• Conduct post-close reviews and drive continuous improvements to shorten cycle time and reduce manual work
• Collaborate with Finance, IT, transformation and automation teams on process enhancements
• Maintain strong communication with senior stakeholders and provide clear status updates

• Proven experience managing complex end-to-end operational processes, ideally in financial closing
• Background in banking, insurance, reinsurance, or other large financial institutions
• Strong organisational discipline, proactivity and ability to remain calm under pressure
• Excellent senior stakeholder management and influencing skills
• Solid understanding of ITIL processes (Incident, Problem, Change, Request)
• Familiarity with financial close processes, SAP systems, consolidation platforms and financial controls
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, especially in time-critical environments
• Higher education in a relevant field; ITIL, Lean Six Sigma or PMP certifications are a plus
• Fluent English
