Job description

This role is Responsible for developing and leading a digitally enabled, analytics driven global strategic sourcing organization. Ensures that sourcing strategies for both IT and traditional, direct spend categories align with corporate objectives and deliver measurable value to the business. Review/Analyse category spend to initiate/direct restructuring of vendor base to achieve cost saving goals. Evaluate current supplier base and prospects for new suppliers. Manage and own highly complex supplier relationships, performance and risk mitigation. Manage and resolve high-level, complex issues. Coach and train internal stakeholders within IT and the strategic sourcing team.

Key Responsibilities;

Compliance & Financial Overview

  •  Conduct supplier financial reviews in accordance with policy requirements
  • Initiate and maintain Purchase Agreements, and supplier business reviews

Market Research

  • Understand external markets, cost structures, geopolitical influences, and technical constraints.

 Price/Cost Management

  • Stay abreast of technology prices that are significant drivers in the cost of products, services, and the impact that technology cost changes have on unit cost. 

Supplier Relationship & Knowledge

  • Deep knowledge of the supplier’s business (such as operating strategies, customers, competition, etc.) 

Trend Analysis and Risk Mitigation

  • Understand global trends that impact the entire Supply Chain from raw materials to manufacturing to implementation 

Supplier Analysis

  • Responsible for research and understanding of new and existing suppliers’ capability to deliver our clients short- and long-term strategic business needs. 

Strategic Sourcing Plans

  • Ensure Sourcing Strategy documents are developed, for key spend areas, to provide a planned, market driven approach to sourcing.
  • Conduct training and coaching to other team members.
  • Independently coordinate with stakeholders on 3-5 year plans

Spend Management

  • Review spend categories and identify and achieve annual savings goals.
  •  Provide coaching and mentorship to other team members.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of global sourcing, procurement and leadership experience, including global negotiations and global category strategfies
  • 5+ years of specific knowledge and experience with IT Hardware, software and services
  • Experience in SAP preferred
  • Onsite 5 days a week in the Luzern office
  • International travel required (25%)
  • Fluent in English; German and/or French preferred
