Senior SAP Basis Engineer

We are looking for an experienced and proactive Senior SAP Basis Engineer to support our client in Switzerland. In this role, you will be responsible for the administration, optimization, and continuous improvement of complex SAP landscapes. You will work closely with technical and functional teams to ensure high performance, security, and stability of all SAP systems.

• Administer and maintain SAP systems: S/4HANA, ECC, BW, Solution Manager
• Perform installations, upgrades, patches, and system migrations (on-premise and Azure)
• Monitor performance, troubleshoot incidents, and ensure system reliability
• Manage backups, disaster recovery, security, and role-based access
• Collaborate with development, infrastructure, and functional teams
• Plan and coordinate upgrades and technical projects
• Identify and implement system improvements and automation
• Maintain technical documentation
• Ensure compliance with security, quality, and company standards
• Support technology scouting, PoCs, and define infrastructure standards
• Provide guidance to junior team members when needed

Required Skills:

• 8+ years of SAP Basis experience
• Strong knowledge of SAP architecture (S/4HANA, ECC, BW)
• Hands-on experience with system upgrades, migrations, cloud setups (Azure)
• Database administration: HANA, Oracle, SQL Server
• Strong SAP security understanding (roles & authorizations)
• Experience with monitoring tools (SAP Solution Manager, EarlyWatch)
• Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills
• Strong communication skills, comfortable in remote working environments
• Business-level English

• Experience with Agile
• ITIL knowledge
• SAP Basis or HANA certifications
