Project Manager

For our client, an international bank based in Zurich, Swisslinx are looking for a highly motivated Project Manager with Financial Accounting experience and knowledge of impairment (e.g. IFRS/US GAAP) projects to support the delivery of regulatory requirements as part of a global impairment program for US GAAP.

This is a 6 month rolling contract starting in May/June with a strong chance of renewal, located in Zurich.

As the successful candidate you will join a highly motivated team of finance and IT professionals within the Finance Change department of the bank. Your goal will be drive deliverables in project, including designing, constructing and implementing processes and controls to deliver timely and accurate presentation and disclosures covers both the end-to-end process/controls as well as specific IT developments to enable delivery of the required presentation and disclosures

Your responsibilities will include the following:

- Play an instrumental role as PM and ensure business requirements are delivered according to planned timeframes
- Ensure the coordination within the Finance team and IT team of functional specifications and use cases for the delivery of the business requirements
- Obtain the buy-in of the key stakeholders of the recommended solution and control completeness of IT specifications vs. business requirements
- Organize and coordinate the testing phase across regions and divisions (test plan, testing, defects prioritization, UAT status report)
- Ensure the documentation and steps for deployment are in place, including user training where required
- Initiate escalation to Program for key issues/risk requiring prioritization or a Program decision
- Prepare and lead presentations in various forums (STC, OpCo, Finance WG,…)
 
As the ideal candidate you will possess the following skills and experience:

- 10+ years of Project Manager experience
- Proven track record in large scale global regulatory projects
- In-depth knowledge of Finance Change/Finance Accounting
- Experience translating requirements for IFRS, IFRS9 and/or US GAAP/Swiss GAAP Accounting Treatment
- Degree in Finance Accounting/MBA Finance/CA/ICWA/CPA/ACCA
- Knowledge of banking products (loans, SLB, risk models, …)
- Experience managing senior stakeholders
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Fluency in English
