As the premier supplier to our international banking client in Basel, Swisslinx are looking for an experienced C# .NET Developer with strong back-end development skills and experience with .NET microservices.
This is an initial contract running for 9 months with option to extend on a long term basis based on the project road maps, with start date latest in July 2024.
Joining a small and diverse business facing team in a dynamic part of the bank, the back-end software developer will design, implement and test .NET micro-services.
Bringing their experience in containers and message queues to implement this new system, the C# .NET Developer will work in a team to ensure the new implementation aligns with the existing architecture and patterns. The new reconciliation platform will align different bank areas (Back office & Implementation, and external vendors).
Responsibilities will include:
• Design, implement and test .NET micro-services as part of an agile DevSecOps team;
• Document design and implementation decisions.
In order to be considered for this role, you the successful candidate will possess as many of the following skills as possible:$
• At least 5+ years' development experience as a software developer, including experience in banking environment
• Solid experience with C#/.NET Core (2+ years)
• Experience with micro-services and containers (Kubernetes or ideally OpenShift)
• Strong hands-on experience with message queues (ideally Kafka)
• Knowledge of relational and non-relational databases (HDFS is a plus)
• Knowhow with modern CI/CD pipelines and Enterprise Log Management platforms (e.g. ELK stack) (*****)
• Good experience with database Management: database concepts, SQL (Structured Query Language), and database management systems (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB)
• Fluency in English
The following are nice to have but not mandatory:
• A passion for clean code, software craftsmanship and automated testing (TDD a plus), and the ability to impart this knowledge to others
• Solid knowledge of design and integration patterns, in particular event-driven architecture
• Excellent presentation skills, as well as, oral and written English skills; a second major language a plus
• Business process modelling/implementation
• Experience with the secure software development lifecycle
• Experience in financial transactions and operations
Please note interviews would be conducted via video call, however the role is based 100% in Switzerland. Our client offers:

• 20 days working remotely from abroad per year
• Modern office in central Basel (50 minutes direct train from Zurich) with subsidised canteen
