As the premier supplier to our international banking client in Basel, Swisslinx are looking for an open minded and team oriented C# .NET Developer with experience in containers and message queues to join a business critical project to modernise a trading platform.

This is an initial contract running for 12 months with strong likelihood to extend on a long term basis (up to max five years) based on the project road maps, with start date flexible.

We are looking for a C# .NET Developer to join a small and experienced business facing team to help implement a new Micro Services platform for pre-trade (real-time) and post-trade (batch) checks.

This engineer will work in a team to ensure the new implementation aligns with the existing architecture and patterns.

This is a new role and the successful candidate will work as part of a team of around 8 people, working closely with other Software Engineers working on various workstreams, as well as other key stakeholders from Middle Office, Risk, Banking Front Office (Traders) etc. in the context of this project.

Responsibilities includes:

• Design, implement and test .NET micro-services as part of an agile DevSecOps team;
• Document design and implementation decisions;
• Requirements analysis, design, initial testing for the system within a team context.
• Communicate and coordinate with other team members related to various workstreams.
• Provide on-call support.
• Contribute to wider discussions on how to design/architect systems.

In order to be considered for this role, you will possess as many of the following skills as possible:

• At least eight years' development experience of which at least 2 years should be in C#/.NET Core, micro-services and containers (Kubernetes or ideally OpenShift).
• A passion for clean code, software craftsmanship and automated testing (TDD a plus), and the ability to impart this knowledge to others.
• Strong hands-on experience with message queues (ideally Kafka), relational and non-relational databases (HDFS is a plus), modern CI/CD pipelines, Enterprise Log Management platforms (e.g. ELK stack).
• Solid knowledge of design and integration patterns, in particular event-driven architecture.
• Fluency in English

The following are nice to have but not mandatory:

• Business process modelling/implementation.
• Experience with the secure software development lifecycle.
• Hands-on experience with Python.
• Experience in financial transactions and operations.

Please note interviews would be conducted via video call, however the role is based 100% in Switzerland. Our client offers:
