As the premier supplier to our international banking client in Basel, Swisslinx are looking for an open minded and team oriented C# .NET Developer with experience in financial services to join a business critical project to modernise a risk platform.

This is an initial contract running for 12+ months with strong likelihood to extend on a long term basis (up to max five years) based on the project road maps, with start date by July.

We are looking for a C# .NET Developer to join a small team building financial risk management systems. The systems play an important part in calculating the financial risk and they are currently working on building our platform to a scalable, containerized microservice architecture, in turn removing functionality from a legacy monolithic system.

The team also build and maintain a platform on which Risk Analysts develop and execute their own Python code, therefore Python experience would be highly advantageous.

Responsibilities includes:

• As part of the Risk Management team, contribute to the continued development of the Risk Management micro-services stack in C#.
• Refactoring and breaking down of a legacy .NET Framework codebase into smaller components to be migrated to .NET Core and eventually OpenShift containers.
• Development of dashboards to automate the operations of a Risk Operations team, built in WPF.
• Helping Risk Management move their platform to utilize a Cloudera base Data Lake platform.
• Replacing legacy interfaces to Banking system with a Kafka based streaming architecture.

In order to be considered for this role, you will possess as many of the following skills as possible:

• Very strong working development experience in an Object-Oriented language such as C#, Java or C++ and a willingness to work on a C# codebase (C# is preferred).
• Strong working knowledge of common algorithms and data structures and design patterns.
• We would expect the candidates to have a good understanding of design patterns and with an ability to prove their delivery skills.
• Experience working with relational databases such as Oracle, SQL Server etc. (all listed databases are at the same level in terms of expected experience)
• Previous experience in the financial services industry will be a strong advantage for the candidate (direct financial services exposure within a bank or financial / insurance institution, or experience within an outsourcing / external company providing software / development to financial organizations / institutions).
• Previous exposure to risk calculations and financial data analysis would be highly appreciated
• Fluency in English

The following are nice to have but not mandatory:

• Skills include microservices architecture design, WPF. Python, Kafka, OpenShift.
• Previous experience in the financial services industry will be a strong advantage for the candidate (direct financial services exposure within a bank or financial / insurance institution, or experience within an outsourcing / external company providing software / development to financial organizations / institutions)

Please note interviews would be conducted via video call, however the role is based 100% in Switzerland. Our client offers:
