On behalf of our private banking client in Zurich we are looking for a Full-stack Infrastructure DBA to comment a six month contract. After the initial six month period this role can either turn into a permanent role within the bank or a rolling contract so there is plenty of opportunity here for any career path! Task will include:
- Ensuring that the backup strategy is functioning and that we can meet any recovery expectations.
- Install and configure new SQL Servers
- Data security and Audit
- When users complain about the performance of a particular query, help developers improve the performance of that query by tweaking it or modifying indexes
2nd Level Application Support
The Operations team will be responsible providing 2nd level application support. In this role if an issue cannot be resolved by the Key Business User or 1st level support team, then you will be assigned the issue and expected to perform the following tasks:
- Ensure we have full details of the error
- With support of the various development teams, trace the error from the point of discovery through the various application modules in order to discover its route cause
- Define and Implement any required actions to correct the issue
- Document the error in our Knowledge Base or FAQ
Requirements
- Good understanding of SQL
- Administration of SQL Server 2008+ databases (installation and configuration, security, SQL Agent jobs)
- Experience in database development
- Experience in SSIS, SSRS, SSAS
The following skills would be an advantage
- Windows Server administration and IIS
- Experience working in the financial industry
