As the premier supplier to our client, a leading commodities company based in Switzerland, Swisslinx is looking for a highly motivated individual to take on a challenging role as an IT Application Architecture Manager.
Our client is looking for a hands-on IT Application Architecture Manager who will currently lead two internal employees (IT Applications Change Manager & Software Quality Engineer) and external service providers or contractors. The perfect candidate would need to have experience working in oil, energy or other commodities businesses.
Key responsibilities:
- Ensures controlled, sustainable and future proof evolution of our client’s applications technology landscape through new and state of the art technologies to empower the company’s digital ambitions
- Define application architecture design principles, concept and linkage to overarching business processes and underlying technology
- Define technical application architecture documentation standards and work with business solutions teams as well as external suppliers on quality and detail
- Define application development security and quality assurance guidelines and ensure their application in the release and change management processes
- Manage and evolve inventory of application technology standards, resp. deviations thereof
- Keep track of applications and underlying technology lifecycle and initiate activities for upgrades or replacement
- Accountable for the ERP solution & its technical architecture, ensuring consistent overall design and technical setup of the platform
- Works with Business Solutions teams to ensure that the technical applications is aligned with the functional & process architecture requirements
- Review and approve ERP technical design specifications and changes
Your background
- Working experience of 10+ years in the field of IT Business applications solution and technical architecture, design and implementation
- Strong experience in designing and implementing ERP systems; specific strong experience on JD Edwards E1 (9.2) is a plus
- Domain expertise in Oil, Energy, or other commodities businesses preferred
- Extensive applications support and operations experience in companies with mature disciplines and KPIs
- Fluent in English, other languages are a plus
